Word of advice for anyone trying to force the hoop into position, be very careful how much you flex it. The plating will crack and in no time at all it will be rusty. You are better off elongating the hole and reprotecting the edges with some good quality paint primer, you'll never see the fitting once the harnesses are fitted anyway.

Just got my Willans harnesses for the Dax and the bolts are labelled S but are far too short. Luckily having read this thread I have some 1 3/4" bolts with the three bars on. Although I'm thinking 2" may have been a better bet.

I think the chart that you have identified should satisfy the tester as to their strength if he asks. They seem fairly amenable to this sort of information - a printed website that frankly I could have made up or got from anywhere satisfied him of the engine age.
