I think the answer is hidden within the fact that the OP is in the "Dax Technical Questions" section.

    Dax.

Not sure what track rods they are though. Sure Dax will still know though and sell you a pair of new ones if needed.

I had to replace the boots on my ends as they perished and split before I even got the car on the road!
I found some replacement boots on E-bay that fitted fine.

I am sure I just replaced mine with standard XJ6 S2 ones last time.

    Re Track rod ends

Thanks guys, I did speak to dax some time ago who stated the Austin princess/Ambassador were the ones, Dave interesting you say you used Jag ones, just wanted to double check, Craig same thing here the rubber has perished, the joint will be ok, did you have any problems getting the wire bands off/on when changing? Thanks Dave

The wire bands did come off quite easily really. Mine were like a key ring loop so I just used some long nosed pliers and carefully unwound them from the joint.

Just pack the new ones with fresh graphite grease and refit the band in the same way.

I can't remember the dimensions of the boots at the moment but most people on E-bay put a rough size guide on their auctions so I just found something similar and gave them a try. I think I have some spare ones at home so could try measuring them for you but It's probably best to remove yours and measure them just in case they are different.

Interesting, My boots also perished before I got the car on the road. I wonder why? I fitted a new pair which were slightly different to the originals just before I took the car to the SVA. I now check them once a year.
