    Jaguar ATE rear brake pictures

    Hi all,

Was wondering if anyone out there has a picture of the ate rear handbrake and caliper setup. Been trying to find a manual to put the brake on but can only find the girling setup and this is completely different. Before anyone suggests I should of taken pictures when I took it to bits, I got all the brake parts already stripped and in poly bags. It has taken me ages to get all the bits together so I can assy but now just need to know where all the bits go and of course if I have all of the bits.

    Thanks in advance.

    Steve

Don't know what year and model ATE brakes where fitted, but you might find some info here.

Well, I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background, one of the things I enjoy most is turning beer, wine, Scotch and margaritas into urine.

Have also bought the DAX brake converters so can use the Girlin handbrake cable so if anyone has the part number for this part I would appreciate it.

I believe ATE brakes were fitted 90-94 (Girling 86 - 90). Try here Genuine Jaguar Parts and Jaguar Accessories for Classic Jaguars

    Gonch,

This looks really good just what I was after, the only problem is there are a couple of pieces this does not rely show where they go like the plastic clip, which looks like a barrel?

Thanks though as had not seen this website before.

If you pm me an email I'll send you the Jag service manual for the XJ40 if it would help. I remember trying to get handbakes shoes for those brakes. Only genuine jag bits would have fitted.

    Steve,
Attached is a doc with the handbrake instructions from the haynes manual. Might help to identify your bits.

Steve - if you need any pics of bits, remind me after the 23rd when I'm back at home. The rear brakes inc. handbrake shoes etc are all still assembled on my rear subframe from a 94 car (so AFAIK ATE bits).
