RE: Dax Radiator (SD1) mounting sizes

Hi Ben.
If you are using the Dax Rad Bracket then you should minimize length"A" and centralise "C" and "D".
This will work fine.............I think, i haven't built a Rover powered car since 1995.

If you dont min. "A" the return edge of the lower front of the body which curls under will foul on the rad.

Ben.
there is a picture on my website of where the rad bracket needs to be mounted.
Take a look in the gallery and then the "See a build" section

RE: Dax Radiator (SD1) mounting sizes

Hi Ben,
Incline the radiator to the back of the car as far as you can.
My set-up is 10 degrees.
I have changed the situation because the top of the radiator has hit the body several times.
My experience is based on a DAX MKII and the left side of the body is lower than the right side.
The paint was cracked because of the hit with a large star (3” diameter)
The space between the body and the radiator with the 10 degrees angle is now 15mm.
I did also a radiator surrounding from aluminum with two blowers at the front (Push)
The blowers come from a Citroen BX.
I got the dimensions of the surrounding if you want.
regards,
Cobra289

RE: Dax Radiator (SD1) mounting sizes

Hi
If you measure the picture of the build from Dave you can find the angle of 9 degrees.
I measure the angle between the overrides plate and the aluminum radiator.

RE: Dax Radiator (SD1) mounting sizes

Hi BenBaron,
DAX doesn’t mention about an angle, but it say that you should install “as high as possible leaving a gap of just ¼” between the top corners and the body molding”
I prefer to get 15mm due to my bad experience.
