Fuel Tank Venting

I was wondering how other DAX owners sort out their fuek tank vent. I have a flush filler cap and judging by the large gasp of air when I remove the cap, even after short engine runs in the garage, its definately not venting through the cap. As i'm using a non injection engine, I do have another pipe which is blanked off coming out of the tank, do I use that?

Hi Martin.
No don't use the other pipe, this is the return pipe for injected engines.
If your cap doesn't self vent you can get a vent pipe kit from Dax that attaches to the fuel filler hose and vents it from there.

RE: Fuel Tank Venting

No definately not, this is perely a fuel return for injection pumps.

Your filler cap should be a vented type. If it is the aston or similar, look for a small hole in the brass circle that locates the rubber sealing ring. If there is not a hole, you need one. It is probably quite easy to drill one about half way between the rubber ring and the centre of the disk.

RE: Fuel Tank Venting

Sorted that problem now. Have brazed a small pipe near the top of the filler pipe and plumbed a pipe across the car cleated high up out through the wheel arch and down the chassis rail. Now onto the next problem!!
