Dax bits

Hi Dax people, (I dont have a Dax but have a few bits of there's on my SRV

1 Do the Dax sidevents cause a problem with sva, ie mine are inside the aperture and not sticking out but still could be contacted by the examiners balls should he wish to place them there??

2 The motorcycle indicator lenses (front indicators) that I have fitted for sva height are not e-marked, any one any problems with either the above??

Is the front indicator height measured from the ground to the middle of the lens or the bottom of it??

Cheers

Graham

RE: Dax bits

Hi Graham,
if you have the same side vents as me supplied by dax last year they should be OK, mine were.
I didn't bother with the secondary indicators I just wound the front suspension up enough to get the height of the BOTTOM of the indicator to 350mm.
If you fit the exrta lights you should remove the wiring from the original ones and tape it back out of the way. A friend failed on this recently.

RE: Dax bits

I don't recall the SVA specifically checking the brightness of the lamps, or the e marks for that matter, maybe I got lucky?
He will check headlamp alignment etc.

RE: Dax bits

The blurb mentions "e" marks and brightness, and states:
"Lamps not bearing such a mark should emit light of similar brightness"

SVA Inspection Manual Sec. 9.1 Para.2 Note 3, if anyone asks!

Simon.
