| Dax fuel tank underslung exhaust I need a substantial tank to feed my big block, Having crafted stainless underslung pipes I want to maximise the clearance under the boot.I know that besides the dax tank the MGB one can be utilised, however I would like 20 gals(ish) and am thinking of a fuel tank/cell I can fit inside the boot, without compromising the battery location, the boot space I'm not too worried about.I'd be interested in any views/suggestions/applications, steel/ally/plastic etc. I did get a quote locally for an oblong ally tank, came in about £300! ouch!!The silencers are another issue,I want the back of the car to make a statement where the pipes exit, any feedback/photos/suggestions appreciated.Incidentally also looking at supercharging a big block application in the future,if anyone wants to chat about putting a big block in a Dax,give us a call, always willing to help/advise. regards to all. | RE: Dax fuel tank underslung exhaust Hi Dave, If you're willing to sacrifice your boot space then a tank which fills the area over the diff and some of the boot itself could be made, sort of 'L' shaped. Like me you can locate the battery behind of wheel arch spaces, I chose the right hand one. You might struggle to get the wet weather gear in the boot though, especially side screens. http://animatedgif.net/flags/-flags-uncat/Wales.gif Kev Davies Dax, 383ci Chevy Stroker, Tremec TKO South Wales

| RE: Dax fuel tank underslung exhaust Hi Kev, I had thought about locating the battery in one of those spaces, have you used a rally type? ie non spill? The 'L' shape would probably work quite well, it would probably need to be ally due to the size I'm thinking of,I had also thought about lining the boot space in ally to strengthen the area/Anyway thanks for the feedback. | RE: Dax fuel tank underslung exhaust No I've just used a standard type battery, FIAM 554 102 054, 58Ah, 570 amp, size is 24 x 18 x 18 cm. It's fitteed on a stainless Dax battery tray, which fits in the space available a treat. It sure spins the stroker over OK. http://animatedgif.net/flags/-flags-uncat/Wales.gif Kev Davies Dax, 383ci Chevy Stroker, Tremec TKO South Wales

| RE: Dax fuel tank underslung exhaust I use these guys a lot through woor and I feel sure that they would be able to build you a tank if you gave them the dimensions. I have seen radiators for Rollers and Lancaster bombers there so a fuel tank would'nt tax them. I have no idea of cost though. Anglia Radiators 01223 314444. Hope this helps. Simon
