Size of seat belts

One More question.
I have a guy who can get me a couple of seat belts(new) so I need to have the size's for him.So what is the measurement from the rear point to the adjustment point over the scoulder and the same from the floor bolt to the adjustment bit on the lap By the way it's all going in a Dax with two hoops with back extensions,
David.
P.S. Do I have 2 or 3 inch straps?

RE: Size of seat belts

David,

May not be of help as my belts are 4 point rather than 3 point, however it's something to read until the DAX guys wake up {-}

Lap Belt - Minimum is 45cm, Maximum is 70cm (Chubby!)
Shoulder belt - Fixed element is 42cm, extendable bit is 3cm-48cm (I have mine set at around 48cm (roll bar to stomach (overhanging gut)).

Width, mines on 2" (ooeerr missus)

Regards

Jim

RE: Size of seat belts

Dave, as far as 3 point harnesses go, I am not aware that they come in different length, as they have a lot of adjustment in the straps, ( as Jim says ). With 3 point belts you either have the Standard ones which have an added strap on the back in case the mounting point for the top point is not near the seat, or the Shortened belt ( which is what Dax and AK use) as the fastening point for the top of the harness is right behind the back of the seat.

RE: Size of seat belts

Thanks Jim.
4 point sounds OK to me do you think I can fit them to my double hoops S A V passable.
Shiny Bits are making them now so I will have to let him have new instructions.
Cheers David.

RE: Size of seat belts

I went with Willans supersport 3 point jobbies. Just the job.
I had the longer version first but they were too long.

RE: Size of seat belts

David,

If your having the hoops made for you then you could get the threaded fixing welded in now, but I'm pretty certain that it has to be welded front and back to qualify (the more the better as far as I'm concerned!. Most important bit is that the roll bars are structural and not just cosmetic, no idea about the Dax but I've seen the GD lifted by it's bars

I think you will find that the Dax roll bars are just for show. At the SVA they will ask for structural proof of the roll bar's if this is how you secure them. x(
