    Handbrake help

    Hi Guys,

    Can anyone help me here. Just fitted the handbrake setup on my de dion chassis, made the hole for the handbrake cable to go to the handbrake lever and all going well.

    Went to connect the cable and I notice it isn't possible to push the cable through the tube fixing!

    What am I doing wrong, do I have the wrong Dax handbrake cable?

    Do I have to cut a gap in the tube to feed the cable through?
    Also, does the bracket with the cotter pin go round the outside of the handbrake?

    Sorry for all the questions

    Michael

    Hi Michael, if the end in the picture is the end you are trying to fix to the hand brake then you have the cable on the wrong way around. :}

    RE: Handbrake help

    Guys,

    On the subject of handbrakes, does anyone know how the cable outer on the rear (left and right) handbrake cables are secured in the hole through the hub carriers on the de Dion? I appreciate the cable inner connects to the brake shoe itself, but what stops the outer from working free? Is there meant to be a clip?

    Hi SJ.
    The pre-tension on the cable holds it in place. :tu
