Hello all,
Last Month
Well, March 11th dawned and promised to be a fine day. I dug the 289 out of the garage where it had been parked from it’s last outing to Essex Arena for the NSRA Swap meet, collapsed the hood and set off for the Bildeston Crown. Surprisingly for a Sunday drive I only caught about two cars on the way and had a very nice ‘spirited’ drive. I arrived to find Cefin and Anne sitting in the corner of an empty car park. The car park was not destined to remain empty (or quiet) for long as we were soon joined by a further two 289’s and the SAD chapter completeing the lineup opposite.
Hidden in the middle is the mysterious Hendry Hawk. Colin had been busy in between bungalow modifications rebuilding the engine. Now the running in process is underway. No leadfoot diff crunching exploits on airfields just yet.
Guy decided to leave the Sumo in the shed for another month to save on road tax. He had found the time to complete his lines before coming though.
The SAD chapter led a convoy away from Bildeston with a mystery destination in mind. It was very mysterious and managed to shake off two of our number before stopping for directions. I hope Mike Linsell managed to avoid my cap which flew off somewhere on the Orwell Bridge.

Stoneleigh. May 6th & 7th.
Thinking of Stoneleigh, I propose those who wish to make to journey in convoy, as we’ve done before, rendezvous at 08:30 (leaving at 09:00) at the Tesco petrol station next to the A14 in Bury St. Edmunds close to the sugar beet factory roundabout. At the moment I plan to go on the Sunday and will turn up at Tesco’s at the above time. Those who are making the journey on the Monday could group together there also.


Workshop Open Day. Saturday 21st April. – Grease those Nipples!
My workshop open day is approaching fast. I have been busy trying to tidy the place up. I have had quite a few responses from other clubs. We should have cars from the Waveney Kit Car Group, Robin Hood Club, Iceni American and local Hot Rodders as well a showing from yourselves. As I wrote before, the idea is to allow use of the workshop facilities if required as well as to have a bit of a social gathering. There is a pit and two ramps available. I have dug out the Barbie and booked the good weather. Potential for a bit of a swap meet also, clear your shed of all those leftover bits or you may end up building another car like me. Please give me a call if you require directions or wish to arrange workshop space and time for a specific job.
Farm address again: Poplar Farm, Fersfield Road, Bressingham, Diss, Norfolk, IP22 2AP. It is situated near the A1066 about 3 miles West of Diss.

If any Suffolk (or Essex) Boys wish to convoy to Woodbastwick along with myself and the SAD Chapter this Sunday we will be meeting at Beacon Hill services at the bottom of the A140.
Around 10:30.
We then plan to travel via the B roads if possible.

I take it that is why you were absent at Marham

Crankshaft, I already have a huge order from Finishline! and most of it's not even for me. Having a week playing airplanes, no cars but having fun and looking forward to the next Marham, cheers, Simon
