Hello all,

Last Month
A very busy month has passed by as quick as a flash. The Aston Martin project has been occupying most of my attention but I did manage to make the time to go to the Duxford car club day along with Andy Edmunds. Andy & I left Ipswich with the roof down and chose to use the back roads. After about half an hour the road ahead started to look rather damp and the clouds has turned a nasty shade of black. We stopped to raise the hood (which hasn’t been removed from the rear scuttle since June) and continued on our way.
Arriving at Duxford we did a quick circuit of the cars looking for the CRC pitch and ended up parking next to the Mustang owners club. No sign of the massed ranks of Essex Cobras that were supposed to be there scaring away the rain clouds with their shiny engines. We supposed that they were all meeting up for a convoy. However when we did find the CRC pitch there was only one lone Sumo and not a single car from Essex! So the score is East Anglia region 6 (SAD, Cefin & Anne, Andy & Myself) Essex 0. It didn’t rain at all during the day at Duxford although we were glad of the roof on the way home.


This Month. September 16th.
Bressingham Chequers Inn is the chosen venue for this month. I had thought to open up the workshop for folk to have a nose around at the new project but I have double booked myself and will be watching Le Mans Series racing at Silverstone instead.

Workshop News
Goodwood was very busy with constant interest in the Aston Replica. An earlier example of the car was auctioned by Bonhams for £66 000 on Friday. Not bad considering my pricelist starts at about £40 000 for a new one. We had a rolling chassis on display and a rather nice hand rolled aluminium front end of a car. Unfortunately I was unable to source a finished car to have on the stand. The one I was planning to use was the one that was auctioned.

Lots of thanks go to Steve and Cefin for helping out over the weekend. I would not have managed without your help.
The website, www.asmotorsport.co.uk , is in the process of being updated. I have simply taken over the old ARA Racing site and will adjust the content as time goes by. I will also be moving it to my own host area soon.
