what plugs u using??

hi
350 sbc(usual stock motor a few goodies ,but not all out race engines!):
relevent perhaps to the other thread re: mpg i just wondered what spark plugs you other guys run with??
i know when in saudi you could only get stock ac plugs r45tsx if i remember correctly -which were MADE specifically for this engine...?!!
i intended trying triple elctrode too NGK,CHAMPIONS,BOSCH(had trouble with hot starts regularly with bosch so maybe NOT!!!)
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
ANY EASIER TO START?
LOWER EMMISIONS?
MORE POWER-NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENTS?
not that i'm trying to start a poll but i'm sure we'd all benefit from others experiences (:read c-ckups!!)

Re: what plugs u using??

Hi Neil
I have a Chevy 350ZZ4 which is a medium tune crate motor from Chevy (355 ps and 405 ft/lbs). I use the plugs recommended by GM on my engine AC MR43LTS or Champion Copper Plus 401 RS12YC with gap set to 0.035" - 0.040" (0.9 - 1.0 mm).

No idea how long they last. I change mine every 10,000 kms

HTH

Re: what plugs u using??

hi thanks for the feedback,i've used some champion RBL15 first then the newer listing RV15YC4 (i think thats the right way round?) but as these seemed usually last for a couple of thousand miles before miss-firing..thought i'd try something different! anyone using triple electrodes? i saw the se first in golfs and all cars i've tried them in so far have more bottom end torque..! (say 10% -ish, 'just seat of the pants'!)

Re: what plugs u using??

Hello if your engine is old style Chevy 350 / with iron GM heads ( 5/8 th plug type) we find AC44TS seem right on target for heat range eg 300/ 400 BHP range . Differant story if your use'n Ed heads or Cants , Bodix , Partriot ect ect... on Champion plugs... sorry i've removed 100.s of sets due to miss fire problems & low life expectantcy till miss fire occours.
In perf engines.. Champs okay for weed wackers & lawn mowers... maybe?
I am testing new NGK Iridium spark plugs now in 300 to 550 BHP street driven cars, they are latest in plug tech from NGK... all the votes are not in yet but looks promising so far.

On trick plugs with 2 & 3 & 4 electrodes , and dilithium crystal impregnated electrodes & cryogenicly heat treated centre electrodes ect ect... no gains i've seen... due to electricty taking shorted & easy path always & electric arcs do not split @ spark plug centre electrode & cause a lighting bolt fire storm @ the tip of your plug as advertizments would leed to believe... i think the word is bollucks is the Brit term ... cross the pond it's BS...

My 2 pence / cents... cross the pond...

Re: what plugs u using??

There is to much hype and bullshit about sparkplugs and can't beat the good old NGK range!

Have always found NGK and Bosch good and Champion a bit dubious.

B0llocks is an ancient language that pre-dates English but is still spoken fluently by older people and those in authority. Quite a few terms have been assimilated into the English language: 'user friendly' is, for example, b0llocks.
