What was actually wrong with it then? The springy pressure plate bit, or the friction plate bit.
I'd rather not have the expense and hassle of taking the whole lot apart to replace the clutch unless i know what i'm looking for.

Hi, just looking through this thread reminded me of a common problem a while ago when the centre support bearing in the flywheel (sometimes needle roller or bush) could stick or get clutch dust in it. This resulted in the bearing, instead of allowing free rotation, turning the spiggot shaft when the clutch was depressed (worse when hot) enough to make stationary gear selection difficult.
Only solution was box out Im afraid, worth replacing while doing your clutch though!! Richard |
