Shortened gearstick remote

Has anyone done this on a GD with the LT77 gearbox in situ?

If so then by how much should it be shortened, bearing in mind there is a cross brace on the chassis a little way forward.

It's not that I'm looking for winter projects, but well, telly's boring isn't it.....

Find out how much you want it shortening by Richard and then give Hawk cars a ring as they have all the proper stuff to do it. There is a new connecting piece for the selector input shaft that you will need and they will cut and weld the remote the correct length. HTH

Did you do it from underneath or does the AK tranny tunnel come off?

Whatever way you do it the remote needs to be removed I took it off from underneath. He just supplies an exchange if he has one or you wait whilst he welds yours. about £50 + vat I seam to remember although this was 4 years ago.

From memory, the remote from a sherpa van is already shortened - if you weren't so evil in a previous life it might even be the right size for you?
