chevy 350 from american v8 engines

hello im totally new to this and my cunning plan for my car is to start with the engine as this is easier to store and if my plan goes wrong hopefully easier to sell.

ive been looking around at different engines and have decided on a chevy 350 that i want to rebuild myself and modify. next step where to get one from? not much on ebay and how can you guarantee that they are ok to use and rebuild??
so i looked around a bit more and found american v8 engines and adrian there is offering a 350 engine there for £425 i think this is a good price according to his website

what i want to know is what other people who have bought and delt with him think?

thanks matt

Matt

I can only speak with regards to parts and advice that I have received from Adrian and can say only good things.:thumb: I do not think you will have problems with the engines and parts you get from him. Don't forget Adrian is also a cobra enthusiast and know what works best in a cobra replica.

I hope this help.

Matt

I've never dealt with Adrian, but I know guys who have, nothing but good has been said of his products and service.

If you check his adverts, I think you'll find that he even offers a guarantee or an exchange if you find a problem with the second hand engines. :thumb:

Re: chevy 350 from american v8 engines

Matt I have dealt with Adrian and i also know of 3 other people who have as well and he is a top bloke. He will guarantee the blocks against cracks and I think being porous ( but don't quote me on that ), if this happens he will just swap the block. The 3 engines I know of that have been rebuilt mine included were all on their original bore which was very encouraging. Good luck:thumb: :thumb: you would be better off with a proper FORD engine though :rotfl:

I bought from Adrian.
The block was still on STD bores(but I had it rebored) and the crank only needed a polish :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Re: chevy 350 from american v8 engines

I got my chevy 350 from Adrian at the same time that Tinka got his Ford engine - but I've only recently finished mine.

After I stripped it down I took it back to Adrian - he arranged to have it bored (it was standard when it arrived) and decked, plus the crank reground. He also rebuilt the bottom end for me - I chickened out of that bit.

I've also had a fair amount of other stuff from him inc. carb, gearbox, clutch, bellhousing. I was happy with his prices.

My dealings with Adrian have been great - he is enthusiastic and helpful.

Hello Claude,

I have only read good things about Adrian on this forum and if we get an enquiry for a cut out engine (we do not supply these) I would recomend they contact him.

Matt, nothing but thumbs up for Adrian, but you can also look on places like eurodragster.com lots of good parts/engines etc on there, just for info. Dave (Poole)
