Weight of 351W and Tremec 600

I am in the process of fitting the above combination and have a engine crane that will do One Ton at its shortest reducing to 250 Kg at its longest . I am finding that the shortest length is making accessing the engine bay a little tricky and could do with extending the arm a little but dont want to drop the whole lot !!
Anyone shed any light to assist please as after the weekend i've had i could do with this going smoothly
As always appreciate your assistance
Nigel
