Rover V8 FlyWheel Bolts

Hi
I have just fitted a Flywheel and clutch to my RV8 ready for bolting on the gearbox this weekend. While lazing in bed this morning(!), I was reading a car mag (as you do!) and saw a Flywheel being fitted to a Chevy. They used spring washers under the Flywheel retaing bolts. All I have used is new standard bolts from Rimmers and no washer. Looking in the Haynes manual there is no washer shown, am I correct or should I really fit washers?

Thanks Guys

Martin
