Mocal remote filter pump cover.

Hello guys

This may me a stupid question, but I would sooner ask it than get it wrong!!! I have attached a picture of the Mocal remote filter pump cover, fitted to my RV8. I am just trying to sort the plumbing out but am not sure which is the "out" and which is the "in" on the cover. One side goes to the remote filter and the other is the return to the engine, but which is which? Could you also explain why that is or why I should know that!?
also.........the mating surface was slightly scored where the oil pump gears had been working on it. I have wet and dried it which seems to have made a good job, but reading in Des Hammills book on tuning RV8's, he says you should always re-anodise the surface if you re-work it, to put the hardness protection back. Is that necessary? will smoothing it with some wet and dry cause to much of a problem?

Thanks a lot

Martin

Hello Martin,

I've dug out the fitting instructions and according to them the IN is on the left and the OUT is on the right (with the Mocal and Made in UK above the ports). I can make a copy and post if you want.
