SVA monitor most Kit Car web-sites.

Hi, after a bit of negotiation got away with 4500 RPM, means noise test at 3375 RMP, fingers crossed might be OK?

With the 2" baffle tubes the Dax pipes should be ok. If not, just take it on the chin, stick some more wire wool in them and go back for a re-test.

I have a decibel meter you can borrow if you like, pm me your address and I'll send it up.
You measure at a 45 deg angle from the outlet and 1m away. I used this one on mine before SVA and it gave very similar figures as the SVA one.

Get yourself a db meter and test it before you go. I got one off ebay for £20 which was about cock-on accuracy, then sold it on again post test.

Martin,

This matter needs some clarification.

My comment states what a previous customer had done to get past his error and in no way do I condone his actions. I have also tried to ensure, that the context of my comments in question stay neutral in this matter. I did think about adding a disclaimer stating this, but thought that it may be viewed as sarcastic and actually promoting the idea.

T Searle is a customer of mine and had already spoken to me about this current issue. It was myself that suggested he start a thread on this forum, as I felt this would be of benefit to those approaching their SVA test.

During our phone conversation, I did not suggest or discuss adjusting the tacho as a solution. Neither have I sent him a PM on this matter, because I do not believe this is a solution to the problem. I'm sure that Mr T Searle will confirm this, if asked.

On reflection, I can see how my comment may be viewed as underhand, but for the reasons given above, this was not my intention. My statement on this thread was to show that this issue with noise has happened to others in the past. If we feel it is necessary, I will ask Rob to intervene in this matter and remove this thread. I do not want any comments that I made to jeapordize this club and it's members.
