Shells Super unleaded, high octane, super price stuff from a nice new petrol station with brand new pumps and a wild bean cafe!

They still didn't decide to fit an LPG pump though for my Range Rover

Craig, based on your message at the bottom of your posts ("Polishes to date = 11"), I'd say the problem is that the car is too clean.
Let it get a bit dirty, and it will run fine.

Could be a hairline crack in your dizzy cap?

I suspect the car was just complaining about being taken out in the cold though.
Don't change anything and see if it does it again next time.

But Neil

There was one point yesterday where I had to drive through a slight puddle. That means the car will need another full clean and polish now!

Will check the cap and rotor arm tonight

Cheers

Craig.

Wouldn't hurt to get a spare coil and module for your dizzy anyway. I'm not sure how much a coil would be, but you can get uprated ones for the HEI. I know a module is only a few quid though.

I take it that using the V Power fuel wouldn't have any bearing on it if it was set up for normal unleaded bearing in mind, aren't you supposed to retard/advance the timing to run this advantageously????

Show's how much attention I paid when I filled up.
Station was actually an ESSO station and I used Unleaded supreme (97 octane I think)

Sure I have used this before but maybe will try the standard unleaded next time.

Cheers

Craig.

I would have said that if it starts mis behaving under load something is then breaking down. Top of the list would be HT leads, £30 for a good set of leads from Real Steel, worth carrying 'round as spares if they don't cure it anyway? Or....you can borrow my spare set?
