An oil filter is a fairly essential bit of kit for an engine you have spent thousands of pounds on. Mail order a couple of K&N's or Moroso from real steel anjd your have them by the weekend.

Craig.
I'm not in any great hurry Craig to be honest, just wondered what the best way to go was. No way will I compromise on quality on anything on my car and especially not something as critical as the oil system.

Thanks for the tips

Hi Kev, My A K.runs with 351 chevy, Ive just done my fourth oil change in 3500 miles. my engine arrived with a Fram, ive used coopers and now on purolator L20049. Miket put me on to purolator. I have been cutting the filters up and if you do you see how tight the filter is packed. i don't know a great deal on the technical side of filtration, so its down to you. Ray

Seems a shame to dump the oil really.

Craig.
I covered over 12,000 miles last year and use Miller's Classic 20-50 oil. Ideal for higher mileages.

Kev,

Give Stateside Auto's a ring (01827 717600), they stock Purlator oil fillters at a reasonable price, they are in staffordshire.

HTH Steve.
