Drain coolant to remove intake manifold on SBC?

I want to take the intake off my 350 SBC to inspect/ID my lifters, measure my cam lobe lift and give the intake manifold a good clean and paint. Do I have to drain the coolant?

Cheers,
Ian.

Most defiantly unless you want water in the engine as the front will be full as this is where the thermostat is.
