Megasquirt on a V6 Cologne

I was just interested in the performance increase for the V6 and whether overall, it would be worth it, or just stick with the EEC IV

If the EEC iv was working then I'd probably stick with that, if it wasn't working and you needed to get a new ecu then I'd probably advise fitting the MegaSquirt. Sorry not much help there

Hi, it really depends on the year of your engine and what air intake sensors it uses, earlier engines won't adjust well to modifications, but later engines and megasquirt would/could.

If you post on Powered By Ford - Index there is a wealth of info on 'proper' european Ford engines on there (pintos, zetecs, cologne V6, BOA,BOB etc).

PS We have megasquirt in the V6 Cosworth, bit of a git to setup, but should eventually be worth it.

It is more the 'fine tuning' side of things now. I got a program off internet that analyses the engine when it is running and produces a map (can't think what it is called at the moment tho). If you want a copy Tone give me a PM.
One thing i am having trouble with is trying to get enthusiasm up to go out in this weather tuning it.
The start up enrichment settings leave a lot to be desired on mine at the moment. I have to keep my foot partially on throttle until engine hits about 40 degrees celcuis, other wise if you try to rev it, engine dies.
You got more time on your hands since stepping down from your role?

The tuning program I use is Megalog Viewer by Phil Tobin and a fantastic tool it is too. Have you tried changing the settings in the warm-up wizard to get the cold starting right? If you could e-mail me a copy of your latest MSQ then I'd love to have a look through it to see the differences with my v8. Are you also running spark as well??
