Hi Craig

If you leave off the screw on boot retainer, the cap comes off easily. More good news is you can get the dizzy out as well.

By the way piccy of filters I mentioned.

Mike

Cheers for the picture Mike

Looking good.

Do you have a set of callipers? If so can you try to measure the diameter of the wire and the size of the holes in the mesh filters please. I want to buy some to do my own throttle bodies with but don't know what size to go for.

Cheers

Craig.

Maybe I'll go for a bigger mesh then?

Or just leave them open?

Craig.

This really worries me, but I'm gonna leave mine open, it will already have bad air flow with lack of clearance from the bonnet! Would not dream of running open intakes, Last year in Le Mans classic the car park was like a dust bowl!

Yeah, You've seen the road I live in too. That gets pretty dusty in the summer.

The mesh still won't stop dust anyway. I guess the holes are in the mesh are about 1mm square so that will only stop flies and stones going in.

Oh, well. Mexican Short engines are cheap as chips!

Craig.

Excellent. I'll get a few sets in as spares. I did edit my post above saying the mesh won't stop dust anyway as the holes are too big. Completely out of options for filtration really.

Maybe stuffing some old rags down the holes would work as filters?

Craig.
