| Inject or not to inject I have a couple of engines for my Cobra and at the moment I have the baby 4.2 in there. The engine has a great history and I have bought sold and re bought this engine a couple of times and it always seem to come back to me. Anyhow this time it has been returned to me with a 4 barrel edelbrock carburetor on it. I have several inlet manifolds one of which has a 1000cfm throttle body on it just waiting for a fuel injection system to be added. Now do I leave the engine with the carburetor on it or do I swop to fuel injection. If I go for a stand alone do I go just fuel and leave the old ignition system in there or do I go the whole hog and do both via an ECU? I know a bit about OE ecu but very little about what is out there for the standalone apart from the top end Motec etc. Any suggestion? Adam |

| I`m researching fitting one of these..... It won`t look very original and will probably be called gay. I don`t care - I am a lesbian anyway.

| Looking at your gallery I think we are talking about a Rover V8 here so your options may be limited as inlet manifolds are not too common for this engine. You could of course get the standard Range Rover EFI system and control it with an aftermarket ECU such as the megasquirt. Another option is to get a set of downdraft manifolds and fit throttle bodies from someone like Jenvey on them. If you fancy a set of 45mm Downdraft Dellorto carbs on Rovercraft manifolds, Let me know. I have a set looking for a new home. ![]() Craig. |

| I was thinking more along the line of this. It has the TPS already, it does have locations for 4 injectors in the throttle body but I don't like the fact it's over the butterflies so I have 8 injector bosses that I was going to weld in to the runners pointing straight at the port. The Mega Squirt option looks good other wise I could use an VW/Audi ECU either off a 4 or 8 cylinder engine. As long as it was a ME7 I can't see that it would be too much of a problem. Not sure if the manifold falls in to the lesbian category? Sorry about the quality of the pics it was dark and the camera in my phone is not the best |
