| I'm gonna be removing my plugs and spinning it over. Mainly because it hasn't been started since I got it from Mike Huddart and I want to check the starter motor is in the correct position. Starting my wiring now it's back from paint, so hopefully it'll be ready for imy first start in a couple of weeks

| Personally I'd just start it up. A starter won't spin it fast enough to get good oil pressure unless you do it for a while and that isn't good for the starter motor. Just check all the fluids and go for it. Once started let it run on a fast tickover for a while 1000-1500 revs and then you should be fine. Different story though if the engine is new and hasn't been run before. If your really concerned take the distributor out and prime the oil using a drive shaft and a drill but it's not really necessary. Craig. |

| My battery was flat even though it was on a Solar conditioner - maybe not enough sun. Anyway, charged the battery and it fired after a couple of spins, let it run up to temperature, took it down the road a little and put it back in the garage. Then rechecked all the levels and tyre pressures, just need the snow to stop now - again!! Andi.

| Richard, if you want to borrow a "tool" to spin the oil pump then give me a shout......................I'll pass on NeilO's phone number Seriously I do have a makeshift tool to do that but I don't see any reason why you shouldn't just start it. |
