Water pump/fan mounting spigot What does everyone do with the mounting spigot for the fan. Do I just 'cut it off' once the fan is removed, or is there a modified water pump I should buy ? Steve

RE: Water pump/fan mounting spigot Steve, Try and cut it off if you want, but I seem to remember that when I tried to do it (it was 13 years ago) that the shaft underneath is hardened so the amount you can get rid of is limited. However it does look neater with the very end of the spigot removed. Kirk

RE: Water pump/fan mounting spigot Steve, My water pump needed replacing and I thought about just cutting it off. When I spoke to Rimmers in Lincoln they told me that the water pump on the TR8 was the same mountings and the flange for the pulley was the same as the SD1, but no spigot. It was also cheaper. I've fitted it and all is fine. Cheers, Stuart.

RE: Water pump/fan mounting spigot Steve, I cut mine off with an angle grinder, came off easy enough. Why make work for yourself let a power tool do it for you! Cheers Adrian:tu

RE: Water pump/fan mounting spigot Contrary Mary Steve cut it off with whatever it is not that hard. BUT be careful as if you lob it off too close to the flange as I did!!! The flange which holds your pulley will just fall off, it's only pressed on would you believe Eric x(
