Oil temp gauge Rover 4.6

Just bought a Smiths mec oil temp gauge, Any ideas on the best way to connect it up? ime using a Mocal oil cooler.

I think Mocal do a inline take off which fits into the oil line for the sender to attach? but has the 4.6 got a provision to fit the sender as standard? hope ime making sence?

Steve,

to my mind you should really be measuring bulk oil temperature - that is temp of the oil in the sump. If you're using a RRover aluminium sump - then drill and tap for your sender. With a steel sump all you need is a weld in adaptor for your sender - which any of the major race part dealers (DTweeks etc) will be able to sell you.

Some Discovery V8 sumps have them fitted as standard.
