RE: PCV valve ?

if you search the forums (fora?) you'll find lots of references to these, as most of us had to ask the same question.

It's actually a one-way valve, which is used to make the crankcase breathe correctly. I bought one from North Hants Types which fitted in the flame trap can-thing on top one one of the rocker covers. Then you run hoses in a circuit - which I can't actually remember correctly without going outside in the dark - but sucks in air from the air-cleaner, through the engine, out the flame-trap and PCV valve, and in the PCV hole in the carburettor (on the Edelbrock that I have, anyway)

I started my engine for the first time last week after 6 years of storage and a rebuild, and the breathing seems ok, so I've done something right!
