Rover V8 oil filter

hi guys,

needing to do an oil change on my SRv8 with an Rv8 & I'm just wondering what filters people use? I've got one from halfords, but it's about 3/4 of the length of the original one on there & it's bright white! x( (orginal is dark blue - cant remember who's make it is!)

anyone had any trouble using one from there? whould I do better getting one from ..... ???

any help/comments would be useful!

Hi Steve, I think you will find that the smaller filter fits fine ( try and say that when you've been drinking) I have one of these fitted with no problems at all. I think I seam to remember hearing some-were, that the only thing with the smaller filter, is it can reduce your oil pressure slightly, but mine still runs at about 50psi at 2000 rpm.

how can it lower the fuel presure? something to do with volumetrics I bet ! (of which I have no clue!)
50psi - on a rover v8 , mines never gone over 30 ! ( I thought they were all typically low !?)

ok - will fit it , I'm sure it's ok (apart from the colour!) unless someone else knows any better?

Halfords HOF221 equates to the equivalent filter recommended by Pilgrim.

Fits fine, with plenty of clearance

ahh -- need a sump plug crush washer - damn !
