Rover V8 3500

Have cured rough running at slow speeds by dismantling carb. (Edelbrock 500)and blowing accumulated shite out with an airline.
Now when accelerating there is a very short hesitation before it takes off.
Another unrelated problem - On journey back from Le Mans, engine cut completely twice then restarted immediately both times. Wiring appears to be ok. This has happened twice more since. Mallory dual point dizzy with Microdynamics power coil c/w rev limiter and ballast resistor. All in use over 3 years and 7000 miles without missing a beat Any ideas ?

RE: Rover V8 3500

When the engine cuts out, check your tacho (before you press the clutch).
If the tacho drops to zero, you have an ignition LT-side problem.
However if your tacho continues to show the correct engine RPM then you likely have a fuel problem.
