| Starting problems I'm having some starting problems in my Sumo. When I try the car from cold, a little choke always helps to get the car started. After a few minutes the choke is closed and the car seems to run fine. If I then stop, say at a shop to buy some beer, and then get back into the car, the car refuses to start smoothly. Instead I have to keep the engine turning and pump the throttle and eventually (with a loud roar }( ) the car starts up. I thought that perhaps the engine is flooding but I'm not sure. I have a Webber carb on Offy manifold that was supplied from RPi, jetted for my RV8 3.5. I had the car tuned at the weekend and was advised that the vaccum advance on the carb is weak (new item en route) but wouldn't have thought that this would be a major stopper. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Tony B --- http://homepage.ntlworld.com/tony.breski |
