Found an RV8 Vitesse engine at last

At last it looks like my kit car career is going to get off the ground.

I've located an RV8 Vitesse engine (twin plenum) I'm informed.

I'm going to Birmingham to check it out at the weekend.

I'm going to strip it down and rebuild it so I will almost certainly be looking for help from you guys from time to time.

The last car engine I rebuilt was a Hillman Hunter over 25 years ago so I hope it all comes flooding back to me.

I don't really understand the twin plenum bit, but I have an idea that it might be something to do with the airflow.

Does anyone have this type of engine and if so any hints or tips that you can provide will be much appreciated.

I'll post an update when I have the engine.

p.s. the ECU bit worries me too.

Howard(one step nearer a Cobra) Bradley

RE: Found an RV8 Vitesse engine at last

Bradley, as you can tell from the replys not many people have these twins in their Cobs. My Dax has one and been on the road since last November, Dax bought as a rolling chassis, engine bought in road worthy-just-SD1, if you have gone ahead and purchased it drop me a line on MchlKy2@aol.com and i can go over the finer points, Mike.
