Oil pump bolts

Can someone please tell me what kind of tool/socket I need to remove the "special" oil pump bolts and where I can get one.
As I wanted to start the engine for the first time tomorrow this is a bit of a bu##er.

'that an 8 mm ring is the tool for the job'

More correctly, a 5/16 ring is the correct tool for the job - it's a Rover hence Imperial bolts (7.9mm).
