| RE: tvr overheating problems More sensibly, 70/30 anti-freeze is worse than at cooling than a more std 30 or 50% mix - in fact pure water is best. The anti freeze is only there to suprisingly enough, stop it freezing in the winter, as well as lubrication of the w/pump seals and as a corrosion inhibitor. As for the oil, there is no way that I would put Mobil 1 0W40 in any V8, especially a Rover. Land Rover (it is their engine after all) specify 10W30 (for -10 to +30 deg C ambients) or 10W50 (-10 to +50). I doubt very much that TVR have done the extensive test bed and vehicle durability mileage required to justify their choice of oil, or maybe it's because they don't care about long term durability and they can charge more than £10 a liter for it when they do a service.
