Russ,

running temp is depends on what thermostat you have fitted. 88deg C - it should run at 88 C on average ! ! !

RE: 4.6 rv8 running temp(what should it be?)

If you have adjustment, the way to set where the fans cut in is to run the car to operating temp on the road so that cooling air gets to the rad, with the fans switched off. Note the temperature on the temp gauge, this is the normal operating temp. Then run the engine on tickover or just above with the car staionary, so no cooling air gets to the rad, monitor the temp and set the fan to cut in when the temp gauge reads a bit higher than normal and check that the fan cutsoff when the temp goes back to normal, there is normally a bit of hysteresis in the control to allow for this. As Russ says the engine operating temp is set by the thermostat not the fan switch.

As usual I concur with Russ,Mine runs at 80-90 and never goes higher(much like a production car)
