    Wildcat Heads

The waiting was worthwhile, just received my Stage 1 Wildcat heads from Ian Ridchardson. My patience was stretched to the limit, while just before delivery he wanted them tested on a flowbench. Results were absolutely incredible !!!
RPI claims on stage 3 heads (are these the ultra big valve heads ?)intake 97 CFM and exhaust 78.5 CFM.
Wildcat stage 1.... 141,7 CFM on intake and 110,9 CFM on exhaust :wewar :wewar
The full race heads will probably flow around 160 CFM on the intake !

    Now I am happy...
    Cheers

    Great result.
Impertinent I know because you don't know me from Adam - but how much did they cost? I may need to factor them into next years budget and need to know how much to hide from the missus.

    cheers,
    Jack

ps If you don't want to say, no probs.

    RE: Wildcat Heads

I'm building a 5.0L Wildcat but without those beutifullllll heads - I can't afford them. Depending on what you are after, 115-120 CFM from good old Rover heads is quite easily attainable - my lad and his cousin with a flow bench have managed it.

    RE: Wildcat Heads

The Wildcat heads start at GBP 1.850 for stage 1 and upto GBP 2.500 for the full race stage 2. You can also buy the castings and do the porting yourself.
Regarding the flow figures.... John Eales prepared some full race heads for the comparation test in 1996 and these heads flowed 102,39 CFM on the intake against the Wildcat heads 128 CFM.
According the guy at the Superflow bench, the best full race Rover heads he ever saw was with rewelded and raised inlet ports which flowed 107 CFM on the intake.

Anyway, Ian Ridchardson knows his stuff and the flow on stage 1 heads is improved since then. :9 :9

    Cheers,
    Rik
