Rover V8 and Unleaded

The Viper that I am purchasing has a Rover V8 3.5 with twin Strombergs. The current owner tells me that a "device" has been fitted inside the fuel tank that adds lead to the fuel so that it can run on unleaded. Apparently this device should not need replacing and is guaranteed for 25 years. Does anyone have experience of using one of these things?

RE: Rover V8 and Unleaded

Phil, MMMmmmm forget the devise in the tank whatever it is, probably a fuel cat fitted in the line some where.

I think I am correct in saying the later the RV8 the harder the seats, but I think they are all hard enough to one degree or another post 1976 to use unleaded of one sort or another Eric.

Phil, RV8 engine numbers are on the site. Click on that topic's on the home page left hand side, will give you an approximate idea of the age of your engine.

Somewhere you can flag the subjects you are interested in, so when there is a new subject posted you get notified in the same way as a reply to your post. You can then decide weather to get involved!!¬! Eric.
