| Re: Why is there always bad news with good news? Tony you need to find out what caused that detonation, if was too high compression you may want to consider a lower ratio piston. What fuel were you running 95 or 98 ? with 10.5:1 I would have thought you'd need 98 at least.

| Re: Why is there always bad news with good news? Kev, the top ring is missing so it looks like it has come through the piston and bounced around the cylinder marking the piston head. I've had the piston checked for detonation marks and there are none, not only that but it only happened on one piston, Thanks for the comment.........ER........Ummm.........you don't happen to have a high compression RV8 piston spare do you? +20 please? |

| Re: Why is there always bad news with good news? Tony. Have you asked Rimmer Bros? 01522 568000, They list individual pistons for the 4.0, 4.2 and 4.8, and although they only list the 10.5.1 as a set, it may just be worth the cost of a phone call. Cheers ![]()

| Re: Why is there always bad news with good news? Thanks for all the info I did try most all of the places mentioned and the ones who had the right pistons only had them in sets of 8. I believe i have now sourced a single piston of the correct size etc which should be with me tomorrow lunch, failing that Mike i'll ring you and ask you to sort one for me, Thanks to all |
