East Anglia Region - Regional Rep

I’ve recently been reviewing my tenure as the regional rep for East Anglia and have been looking back on my early newsletters. In my first full regional newsletter of March 2000 I gave a little ‘profile’ about myself and my love of sports cars. Well, almost 6 years on, I still enjoy the sound and the acceleration provided by a big V8. However, after having bored you all with 6 years of Eileen’s ramblings, Steve and I now feel it’s time that we took a more low key role within the region and hand over the reigns to someone else with their own ideas and points of view.

Therefore, as of the end of December 2005, we will relinquish the newsletter and co-ordination of meets and events. Certainly, in between working on our house alterations, installing new bedrooms and bathrooms, we’ll still take an active part in regional meets and events and would like to take this opportunity to wish the new incumbent much success.

Should a new regional rep not volunteer prior to the start of January 2006, I suggest we revert to using the Chequers at Bressingham as a third Sunday of the month ‘base’ until a new programme has been put together.

So, all those interested in taking over, please take one step forward.

Best wishes
Eileen & Steve

Eileen, Steve, you have done a sterling job for your region over the years, and I know what it takes to keep it going.
Congratulations to the both of you
Lets hope your successor is forthcoming and the impetus you have generated will not be lost....
well done and a happy retirement.

Re: East Anglia Region - Regional Rep

I hope that somebody is available to take over your mantle as Im now part way through my build and was looking forward to the day when I can actively take part in a cobra meet with a cobra, not bike or tin can.

I must add I do like the rambling news letters each time they land on the mat and would like to say well done and good luck.

I cannot dedicate the time needed to do the role justice as I struggle to dedicate the time to build the car and live a life due to work commitments.

Thanks again and good luck to whomever takes over.

Regards

Markieboy

Re: East Anglia Region - Regional Rep

Markieboy,

You don't have to have a car to attend the meets! It would be good to see you there and exchange a few hints and tips.
I remember Chris Wicks used to turn up regularly during his build and research the most economical and local options available with the help of others experiences.

I have thanked Steve and Eileen for their hard work over these past years. I have enjoyed the club activities and meeting folk very much.

I have contacted them to 'throw my hat into the ring' so to speak to take over and attempt to organise the region. If anyone is concerned about a potential conflict of interest with my workshop business activites then now is the time to voice your opinion.

I would propose to try to keep the existing format that Eileen and Steve have made work so well.
