Santa Pod RWYB 2006

Anybody interested in a day at the Pod for a Run What Ya Brung day :thumb:

I have just had the dates for 2006 posted to me and when the Cob is back on the road I will be making a trip.

I have been a couple of times before, and it is great fun.

You pay to get in and then pay a track fee.

You get as many runs as you can cram in, but I have never managed more than 6. You get a print out on every run, showing 1/8 and 1/4 mile times, reaction times and final speed.

My best with a broken first and a misfiring engine is 15.4sec at 88mph Pittiful I know, but it's a lot harder than you think to get everything right. My next best time was 18 sec at 95mph. Work that one out.

You will need a brain bucket, your driving licence and either a drivers side screen or a bit of string to tie your hands together to stop them flying out of the car when you crash and getting cut off ny the Armco.

If I get enough interest, I will post the dates for the year, I don't have them with me at work.

Cheers.
Mark.

Re: Santa Pod RWYB 2006

Now listen here Mr Clarkson, you have just spent the best part of 2 years rebuilding your cob, and most of that was with the engine, yes its a stonker but for gods sake dont go and blow it to bits before you have been to a few meets and the classic of course........... after that amount of time surely you want to drive it a bit before the first/next rebuild ?????
