North Yorks / North East meets 2006

After the winter lay-off the first North Yorks meet of 2006 will be this Sunday 2nd April at the usual place - Blue Bell Inn, Kirby Hill, Near Boroughbridge, YO51 9DN

It's dead easy to find off either J49 or J50 of the A1(M). If anyone knows the area its very close indeed to RAF Dishforth so you've got the chance of seeing the odd Apache helicopter as well (hard to tell what's louder - the Apache's or Chiffer's side pipes!)

Last year was the inaugural year for the North Yorks meets and I know Mike plans to try and get some run-outs organised. If anyone has any ideas around this please shout up.

We had quite a few different makes of replica their last year and a few people still building too (me for one). It's a very friendly and laid back meet with absolutely everyone welcome. The meet is in North Yorks but at least half of people turning up are from the North East, the more the merrier. Please spread the word and lets get as many cobs as possible there on Sunday and the rest of the year.

Cheers mate, hope the weather holds up. My young lad has only had one bit of design input on my car - the pipes must be as loud as that blokes from the cobra meet

I knew I'd miss some critical info. Any time from 11:30 onwards mate. Did you go to Oulton on Saturday?

Yeah,

It chucked it down from home to Manchester on the way there. On the scenic route back on the A684 it chucked it down from Hawes to home so the roof stayed on all day.

As for the show the highlight for me was GD showing there MK4 Cob - I want one. I was a little disapponted at the lack of owners cars on show. Also I was supprised at the lack of parts sellers (well it was promoted as a track orientated show - I should of known) but running the Cob over the winter has played havoc with my brightwork and I wanted some new headlight rims / rear reflectors - oh well i'll just have to get some mail ordered.

Thanks to the guys who made the effort,
The rain was light, Chiffer made it from Leeds and John "C" from Co Durham and Kev took me in my cob, <and I don't have a soft top!>But where where the rest of you?
I suppose some of you don't tax your cars until May ? so hope to see more there on the 7th of May, < Stonleigh is on the 30th April isn't it?>

I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised with the lousy weather again, but I sat like"Billy No Mates" for nearly an hour on my tod, and then gave up and went home! Need to make a bit more effort if you want a meeting north of Leeds.

nuff said! next meet is same place on 4th June at 12 oclock.
