LeClassic Update

OK peeps heres the latest update re our little trip in July.
Unfortunately its not all good news.

First the good news though;
general admission tickets are confirmed with the organisers the SAVH and paid for, we have general admission tickets, tribune grandstand, paddock passes and centre car parking.

Camping, we are confirmed on Maison Blanche.

The Bad news,
We have not got the parade laps !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Further to my last update I have been speaking to both the organisers and the ACO in trying to resolve the cock up by the organisers in losing our request !!!!! but to no avail they have both said - NON.......
To say I am pi$$ed of with the SAVH would be an understatement, they got the ticket request and the bit about the money but just happened to lose the other bit with the parade laps on!!!, and have admitted as much on the phone, they also tripped up by then saying we didnt pay the deposit on the pareade laps, and when I pointed out that they didnt ask for one just for the admission tickets they went very quiet. I also have the e-mails from Sept last year confirming our requirements.
As said I have e-mailed and spoken on the phone to both the SAVH in Paris and the ACO on numerous occasions over the last few weeks and there is just no way they can fit us in as all the spaces have been allocated.

Sorry guys.

The other small item to mention is that as most of you are aware the Euro has taken somewhat of a dive since the beginning of the year and this has has a negative effect on the cost of the tickets, once I have the final figures from the ACO booking through, I will be able to re calculate the cost but I am afraid it will have gone up a bit for us all, I am guessing at the moment about £5.00 per head, but as I say if you can bear with me a bit I will have the exact figures soon.

I will of course be refunding everyone who requested parade laps.

Thats it for now

Appologies for it not being all good news but believe me its not been for want of trying.!!!

OH and I still dont have a date as to when the tickets will be issued, but you lot will be the first to know.

Andy. I'm sure I can speak for everyone here. And THANKYOU for your diligence and time spent trying to sort this out. I know how you feel after my own experiences with Transmarche "Their Loss" is all I can say I wish I could afford to turn away 60 x £80

Thanks Andy for all your efforts, I do not envy you trying to negotiate with the French, especially the ASO

As far as I know it is the same ASO that organise the Tour De France and they are some real bolshoi bast*rds when other federations try and muscle in on them (ie the UCI). Their current antics are headline news all over Europe, but they might well be in the right as far as cycling is concerned??

Oh that is disappointing news!

I have ordered the cameras and video recorder to record the laps. Bugger.

That's the Cobra high point of the year gone and it's still only April.

Many thanks for all your effort on our behalf Andy, you must be feeling as pissed off as we are.

The cheese eating booking cock-up monkeys have won!

No problem we can just gate crash the circuit or organise our own parade laps around the perimiter road

Andy

You're still a star - huge effort to organise anything, especially where the French are involved.

Well done that man
