Silverstone Classic Camping ?

Hi,
I've booked my tickets for Silverstone Classic & sent SAE to Mr Bling for infield passes so I now need to book a camp site nearby.
There was a link on the Silverstone web page for Whittlebury Park that is apparently the nearest camp site.
I was wondering if anyone has stayed there before & can recommend it or any other site nearby for that matter
Anyone else staying at Whittlebury.
I'm planning on travelling down on Friday 25th when my son finishes school as it is about 3 hours from me ( NE England ) Hopefully the traffic won't be to bad
Was also wondering what the traffic is like travelling to the circuit on the morning ? It looks like the action starts quite early so looks like we'll need to be up a the crack of dawn !
Any other info appreciated.
Regards Phil

We stayed (camped) at Whitelbury park last year and it was OK for the couple of days we were there, on site food, bar, loos and showers etc, hope you like curry and rice though as that seemed to be on the menu most days with others as well though.........
They laid on a band for the saturday night and they were good, all in all a great campsite for the weekend.
They also do the british grand prix big time so know what they are doing.
Some areas are on a bit of a slope so best get there and pitch your tent as soon as you can, also dont go near the lake as they told us last year it gets a bit boggy in that area and they wernt joking.
Despite the rain we didnt get stuck even with the cobs.

Some did try to gate grash the wedding reception in the hotel on the sat night but beered uop louts in cobra jackets kind of stood out a bit !!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

So chaps, who is going to the classic at silverstone.

just booked tickets, and with the infield pass they gave me a free days ticket, so the weekend (sat and sun) cost me £25

Where is everyone camping?? whittlebury or the one at the main entrance

Classic

Thanks for replies,

You mentioned your infield pass, did you book this with your ticket ? I didn't see any mention of them when booking on-line even though I used CRC discount code
I have sent off SAE to Mr Bling as it suggested in last Snake Torque mag, hope this is correct thing to do ?

Thanks again, Phil.

Hi all,

I phoned Silverstone last week and basicly got the same deal as last year. Three day ticket plus an extra ticket, infield passes for three days, £35.00. So I`m booked and ready. Its only an hour away for me so no beer and camping but lots of lovely Cob miles Just need the three day pass off the missus

Bob

Andy, it is the weekend after the weekend after Le Mans. Out mini tour gets back on Sunday 20th just in time for Silverstone. Weekend only for me this year though as my boss seems to want me to work a few days at least in July.

So what's the consensus where are the majority camping, don't want to be another "Billy no mates".

Tickets all booked for the weekend, request in for good weather, sorted.

Just need to know where to book for camping?
