| Thames Valley Meetings I am the very proud owner of a Crendon CR427 (Built by John Kerr i.e. Mr Crendon) and also own a Restaurant & Country Inn in Berkshire, 5 miles south/west from Junction 11 M4. We have a very large car park and three Sundays ago held our first informal meeting. We had my Crendon & a Dax from Wokingham. If you in the Berks/Hants/Bucks/Oxon area and would like to start meeting here please let me know either through the forum or direct via email. |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Hi Roger At last somebody else from the area, I would be delighted to team up on meets at your venue, please let me know when the next one is. I also own 2 pubs, one in Chalfont St Peter and one in Chalfont St Giles, Buckingamshire. The pub in Chalfont St Giles has a car park and a 1.5 acre garden and could also be used for meetings if required, the address is The Merlins Cave, Village Green, Chalfont St Giles, Bucks HP8 4QF Tel: 01494 875101. We only do food between 12 noon and 3pm but the pub is open all day. The pub in Chalfont St Peter has no car park and is situated in the high street and therefore may not be suitable. Look forward to hearing from you. Garry |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Gary, Thanks for the quick reply. Same business! I have always believed in fate! You must be like me, 18 hours a day seven days a week. You need something to blow the cob webs away and stir up the grey matter. My Cobra certainly does that. Are you going to Duxford on the 28 July? I have set my staffing to allow me to go, subject to the weather. If so, we should try and meet there. Like you we do lunch on Sunday 12.00 to 3.00 and then close at 5.00 and are not open Sunday evening. As I said we have large car park and old Victorian Bowling Greeen which we use for functions etc. We are The Fox & Horn, The Street, Stratfield Mortimer, Berks RG7 3NR Tel: 0118-933-2428. Will let you know what we are planning for the next few weeks, I could always come over & meet you mid week sometime. All the best |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Garry Is your pub just down the road from the old Rothmans offices? Robert Forum Admin http://www.cobraclub.com/flags/UK.gif
__________________ Best Regards Robert My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere. |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Hi Robert Not sure about the old Rothmans offices, I was born in the Chalfonts and I don't remember Rothmans having offices around here. The only corporate business in this area was British Alcan (formerly Britsh Aluminium) and SSVC (Services, Sound and Vision Corporation). If you get a chance to get away from the Cobra Club office desk, then please pop over and visit us here in the Chilterns. I will be at Duxford on Sunday, will look out for you, keep up the good work. | RE: Thames Valley Meetings Roger Yeah, its hard work, but we love it, great characters and good fun. Please keep me posted on your next meet, and yes I am going to Duxford on Sunday with 'er indoors', can't wait, I've only been to 1 other meeting, at Detling,Kent and some of the other members there were very friendly, they told me this meeting should be very good. Would be very pleased to meet up with you, just let me know what date and time. regards Garry |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Well Hi Guys, I don't own a Pub so does that mean I am excluded?? Do love Cobra's and live just inside the M25 at Harefield, not quite Bucks/Berks but close enough. I have a Ram Automotive S/C 350 HO chevy in Dark Green - normally out and about most dry days! Will try for Duxford on Sunday - are you both going - if so what sort of time..... This is my second Cobra - first one died in a car crash - and could never understand why no Club meet for Bucks/Berks? Sure that I have seen at least three Cobras in/around the Chalfont, Amersham and Beaconsfield area. Wait to hear. Grant. |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Hi Grant, Thanks for the message. Gary and I were just talking and agreed that even though your not in the business, you can still come out and play with us. I am planning to meet Gary at Chalfont St Peter between 09.15 to 30 and then drive across country to Duxford. My friend Karl from Wokingham with a Blue/White Rover Dax is trying to get a pass out from home and may be with us. Hope you can make it, the weather should be great. Cheers |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Grant Just reiterating Roger's comments, you would be more than welcome. We are planning to meet at the Merlins Cave, Village Green, Chalfont St Giles, Bucks at approx 09.30 on Sunday, just a 3-4 mile trip from Harefield I would guess. If you follow the A413 from Denham to Chalfont St Peter and then continue on to Chalfont St Giles, when you get to the crossroads, (Cape Fish Inc) restaurant on your left, turn left down the hill into Chalfont St Giles village and around the bend at the bottom you will see the Merlins Cave pub on your left overlooking the village green. Would be nice to meet up, I have been waiting ages for a Cob meet in our area and Roger seems to have kickstarted something here, so hopefully see you Sunday. Garry |

| RE: Thames Valley Meetings Hi Roger and Gary, I too hope to have a "pink-ticket" for Sunday morning and 9.15-9.30 looks good. Where in CSP? I have to be back home for 2.30pm as off to a Christening - but should still have 3hours+ of fun. Hope Karl can secure his freedom and it is going to be a great day. Cheers, Grant. |
