Having problems getting onto the site

I have been having problems getting to the club site

some time I can but mostly not I am using tesco.net(backed by NTL) dial up anytime.

I have noticed that the connection uses differing IP addresses each time I log on

If the IP address starts with 217.????? then I cannot acces the site but any other IP ie 213.???? all is well.

I have attempted to contact the support lines but no joy can any help before i have to change ISP,

Broadband arrives in my area in may 05 but it's hassle to wait till then

Chris

Re: Having problems getting onto the site

Osgood has been having the same problem via NTL, he has chucked them out and gone broadband.

Till broadband arrives in deepest Norfolk, buy a couple of pidgeons, probably quicker than dial up. :thumb: :thumb:

Re: Having problems getting onto the site

Yep I herd Osgood was in same boat, it looks as though i going to have to manage for now but thought it worth asking

Apparently broadband needs a minimum no. on the local exchange trouble is everyone's retired arround here and the only broad band they want is the copper one round their wrist,

Still should be here soon can't wait, BT's estimates as to when broadbands arrives are about as reliable as my predictions as to when the cob's going to be finished

Try configuring IE to use a public external proxy, which means that if you do get a 217 address, you are not talking directly to the webserver, the proxy is.
