GD technical questions.....

I did just sign up to the GD owners forum yesterday to see what was going on there as well as here...
But now, when in this forum I see an arrow before the topic, I redirects me to the GD forum. Is this something new or something that's intergrated between the 2 forums?

Also the GD forum has changed and I cant see half of the threads anymore since yesterday. eg, GD 427, GD T70, GD GT. Am i losing it? ..... again

Re: GD technical questions.....

GD have an owners forum, so the direct technical questions should be forwarded there, I will be doing the same thing for Dax when I get a mo as they also have a forum.

There is no direct integration, they are two completely different forums and domains.

If you are an owner, then you will be able to see the deeper forums, you aren't losing it. If you are an owner, then mail Andy with your chassis number and he (or me) will enable access to the owners section.

Ah ok, so it is something you just did?

I was aware of the hidden sections for owners but I could see other threads that are no longer there. Not to worry. just reading as much as poss

The order will be placed before summer.

Re: GD technical questions.....

What has happened to all the threads that were there? They gone to the builders section?

Most of them were specifically build related, so they have moved into the build forum.

Re: GD technical questions.....

Is this really a move in the right direction????
The Dax forum is mostly full of Rush owners wanting yo know if they can fit a Wankle engine in their car or someone wanting to fit a Chevy engine into a Mustang. Although I think it is good of Dax to have a forum it is not a patch on this one.
I feel as though the "Members only" GD forum will alienate the rest of the Cobra anoraks. The GD doesn't get many moaning posts so why hide it from the rest of the world, I would have thought it was a good advertising medium. I know most GD owners need locking in a cupboard but I think this is going too far.

Or am i completely missing the point of this exercise?????

Re: GD technical questions.....

Dave,

GD Forum tends to be a repository for photo's / diagrams / good ideas specific to GD's, there's not much (if any) real activity....although it's got a lovely logo now though

Members have the option to post in the general tech tips here, or jump over to the GD forum. There is also the T70 and in the future the GT to consider. Also, with the dealers overseas, there is a need to have the 2 (3) different cars support in one place.

Re: GD technical questions.....

I'm sure you had your reasons, and I'm not going to question them. But I was 2/3 of the way through reading all the threads as part of my research into what goes into a build.LOL
I now know 80% more about the build than I did before joining, as this is the only real place with so much info and so many peeps willing to give advice.:thumb:

In general, especialy for people less decided than me, it was a good place to read up on things.

Good ol Brits, we dont like change but we like a good ol moan.

Anyway, as I said. I'm sure you had reasons and I will respect them.....:thumb: u da boss.

Give it a couple of weeks and there will be a load of questions back up on the GD forum.
