My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

Hmm.....I also found out that cavity wall insulation in ancient cotswold barn conversions consists of straw & fossilised cow dung

The house we are currently in, built around 20 years ago uses compacted straw as the insulation in the walls, works very well. When I moved a wall around and chopped a doorway, I couldn't believe it was straw, so I took some outside and tried to burn it, god knows what it was treated with, but the stuff refused to burn.

Thankfully, we didn't have the cow dung though.
