Active sync

I'm having problems syncing my ipaq, I put in the cradle and it connects and starts to sync, then a message appears, "sync cannot be completed successfully", then it dissconnects.

I have uninstalled active sync and reinstalled the new 3.8 version and it is still doing it.

I took it round to my mates today, he put it in his cradle and it was fine, I don't think my cradle is the problem, could I have lost something in my computer that could be causing it.

I also get a message on the ipaq whilst in the cradle, "unable to connect, you have no modem entries created and no network card present"

Help

Re: Active sync

hi Mike'

have you tried a virus scan? you could have a bug.

other than that, try plugging your cradle in another USB port or try your mates cradle on your PC that should eliminate the cradle as the problem.

one thought is that the connection on the cradle is loose due to useage, I had a similar problem with a phone cradle after 12 months of daily use.

good luck.

Re: Active sync

Have you got Windows firewall turned off for that connection on PC? Firewall may block the traffic that you want. Also temp disable popup blockers, spam filters, any aftermarket firewall software and anything not needed.

I says the USB connection is working ok, it actually starts to sync then cuts off, saying sync cannot be completed please check help on active sync web site.

I have disabled everything and its still doing it.

Sorted, my mates been round today and suggested taking out the battery and letting the backup battery go flat for a few hours, battery back in and charging and now syncing.

Re: Active sync

Hi Mike
Glad you got it sorted.
I asked a blokey at work and he could not suggest anything other than install latest active sync program.
Does that mean if i cant fix my own, that i can drop my pc down to you?
Best wishes.
Got your car polished for Saturday????
