Re: Help again

That normally happens when old people spend too much time in front of a computer !!

I asked for help, not a disdain comment from someone who looks like my dear departed Dad. :finger: :thumb: :thumb:

Cheers Steve

Makes good reading, but I'm scared s*** in deleting something I shouldn't, anybody point me to the correct one to delete, when I open regedit there is an entry on the right which says

Name Default
Type REG_SZ
Date (Value not set)

Please, please

Re: Help again

You tried doing a system restore when things were happier?
May save divvying about with the registry.
Old people hey........ tut.
Give me a shout if you get stuck.
Don't spose you have run micropants anti spyware or full virus scan?
You've not also dragged the system32 folder into the startup menu in windows by mistake?
You could also try 'start', 'run', type 'msconfig', go to 'startup' an see if there is anything ropey in there.

Re: Help again

Without being a defeatist, i would back all your data, favourites etc up, then do a complete reinstall.
I know it seems harsh, but once you get one problem, you never know where it will end.
PM me if you want my phone number again.
Cheers

Re: Help again

If you open a file view (any of them) and click Tools - Folder Options - View(tab), scroll to the bottom theres a settings that says 'Restore Previous Folder windows at Logon'

You might want to (un)check that.

Re: Help again

Thanks Steve, Kev and Adrian. :thumb: :thumb:

I did a system restore back to the begininng of December and it has sorted the problem, I now think it was something my daughter must have downloaded and I didn't go far enough back with the restore point.

Thanks again and have a very Merry Christmas. :thumb:
